The Member’s Benefits Wheel (above) demonstrates how EMICoL assists SMEs to enrich their commercial capabilities through the following:

Group Tender
There may be opportunities for a single SME that cannot fulfill the obligations of a large tender to join with a number of others from within the group. EMICoL’s challenge is to formalise the process and to assist Member companies in completing Tender documentation. EMICoL many also enlist the support of sponsors to supply product.

Inform
As new products, changes in legislation, technical advancements or business opportunities arise, EMICoL will use its network and communication processes to keep members informed.

LEAPS
LEAPS is a structured work experience program that provides those in the secondary school system with practical projects to be completed in the workplace that gives them a hands on experience in the engineering trades.

Group Benefits
There is a host of opportunities for the Cooperative to seek out group purchasing opportunities to offer members that will enhance their bottom line.

Sponsor
Sponsors of EMICoL have a communication line directly to the business owner and are able to access the membership to promote products, train and offer group deals.

Network
Members and sponsors will meet regularly to swap ideas, solve problems, interact with sponsors and socialise.

Training
Where limited numbers of attendees is an issue for training providers, the network of EMICoL Members can be approached to see if additional participants can be found from the group. Training issues can be lobbied on behalf of the group with government agencies.

Lobby Group
The power of numbers from within the group presents a powerful message when lobbying for a better deal from government agencies and statutory authorities.
